]01[ the problem
A contractor on a clinic like this one gets five models from five consultants. Structural, HVAC, plumbing and electrical each know their own systems. Nobody on site sees all five on the day's plan, so the ductwork arrives and meets a steel beam, the ceiling closes before the inspector has seen above it, and the foreman calls the project manager to ask what is next.
]02[ the product
The building as it stands today, what every crew is doing, the two-week lookahead and the clashes that will block a crew before they block it. The schedule drives the model, so a slipped task shows as a gap in the building.
On a phone: today's step, the elements to install with their IFC ids, a checklist that knows the quantities, the clashes on their own systems and who they clash with. Tap an element on the twin and it says what it is, when it goes in and who signs it off.
Hold points tied to the elements they cover: footing rebar before the pour, fire-rated walls before boarding, the space above the ceiling before the tiles go in. A hold point that has not passed stops the next task.
We load your IFC files and your schedule (MS Project, Primavera P6 or a spreadsheet), map each task to its elements and publish the twin to your team. Progress comes back from the apps, site cameras or a weekly scan and is written onto the same elements.
]03[ what is real on this page
| Real | Simulated |
|---|---|
| The building: buildingSMART's Medical-Dental Clinic, a real two-storey clinic modelled in Revit, five discipline IFC files, CC BY 4.0 | The schedule: 16 tasks over 120 working days from 5 October 2026, set by us to show the method |
| Every element's class, name, storey and IFC express id, read from the files | Which day each element goes in (spread along the building inside its task) |
| The 182 candidate clashes: bounding boxes of two disciplines overlapping by at least 40 mm on every axis, computed from the geometry | Clash status, crews, names and checklist ticks. Ticks are kept in your browser only |
| The quantities in each checklist, counted from the model | Hold point results |
A bounding-box clash is a candidate, not a verdict: a duct can pass through an open-web joist or a planned beam penetration. On a project a coordinator confirms each one; the twin tracks the confirmation.
