Foreman apps

Every app below runs in one desktop install. Sign in with Google or GitHub once and your computer joins ce-net, the network Foreman runs on, so each app reaches the people and machines you work with.

The app for your desktop

One window with a tab per app. Version 0.1.3. Free for anyone: download it and sign in with Google or GitHub, no invite needed.

Install: sudo apt install ./ce-net_0.1.3_amd64.deb. 64-bit Debian or Ubuntu. SHA-256 0fb38c9a60a4d5d7800cf10a6637979fe2cabbf53da15e8f9240b34127fa734f. Nothing else to install: the app carries its own sign-in key tool.

Linux on ARM: sudo apt install ./ce-net_0.1.3_arm64.deb. 64-bit ARM Debian or Ubuntu. SHA-256 212e8b068a9297b4208695f059aeb6591c856293dca4725bb2b9a546c95165a6.

Windows: run ce-net_0.1.3_x64-setup.exe. It installs for you alone, no admin needed. 64-bit Windows 10 or 11. The installer is not signed yet, so Windows may say it does not know the publisher: choose More info, then Run anyway. SHA-256 6881bdffcbba95c43533d84e86daaaea69b629de9695f265b70a4579759543f0.

Mac: open the zip and drag ce-net.app into Applications. One download for Apple Silicon and Intel, macOS 11 or newer. The app is not notarized by Apple yet, so the first time macOS will refuse to open it: go to System Settings, Privacy & Security, and choose Open Anyway. The app on your phone

The same tabs in your phone's browser, read only. Early access: your account must be invited.

Open on your phone

iPhone: open the link in Safari, sign in, then tap Share and Add to Home Screen. Android: open it in Chrome, sign in, then choose Install app from the menu. Your phone keeps its own key for one hour at a time and renews it while the app is open; nothing is installed from a store.

First run

Open ce-net. A bar at the top says this computer is not on ce-net yet.
Got an invite link from someone? Paste it to join their network. No link? Leave it empty; you get your own account.
Press Sign in to join. Your browser opens; sign in with Google or GitHub.
Go back to the app. It says your computer is on ce-net, and the apps load.

Machines and media 4

machine.stats This machine's load, cpu pressure, memory, disk, uptime and os, one per machine.
disk.bench Time a write, fsync and read-back of N bytes in a folder (a ce-drive folder by default); MB/s each way, bytes verified.
render.still One PNG still of any WebGL page in film mode on a machine with Chrome.
media.dims Width and height of a picture or film from its own header (PNG, JPEG, GIF, WebP, MP4/MOV tkhd), no decoder.
