How hard the fan blows for your spool
Cooling decides overhangs, bridges and layer bonding. Bambu Studio sets four fan numbers per spool. Pick yours to see them, and how hard it cools an overhang.
Work it outWhat the presets say
PLA wants all of it. Bambu PLA Basic: part fan 100 %, overhangs 100, side fan 70.
PETG starts low. Bambu PETG HF: 20 to 40 %, overhangs 100, no side fan.
Engineering spools keep it warm. Bambu PC 10 to 40, PA6-CF 10 to 30. The side fan is off on 40 spools.
Your spool
From BambuStudio 02.08.02.61, its own filament presets for the X1 Carbon with a 0.4 mm nozzle (86 spools, each resolved through its parent presets). Fields: fan_min_speed, fan_max_speed, overhang_fan_speed, additional_cooling_fan_speed. The fan runs between min and max by layer time.
What you get
- Overhangs that hold
- Fan and speed set for the part, not the spool alone.
- Stronger layers
- Less fan where bonding matters.
- The file checked
- Before the run.
- Or we print it
- Tuned on our printers in Shenzhen.
