Half your small print is not printing

Every Bambu print starts with heating, levelling and a purge, and ends with its own moves. On a small part that is half the job. Send us the STL. We slice it on your printer, split the time into preparation and printing, and show you how many parts per plate it takes to make preparation small.

See the split

What the slices say

About six minutes, every time. Preparation took 5 min 17 s to 7 min 16 s per plate across seven printers, the same with one bracket or eight.

Half the job on a small part. On our 13-minute bracket, 47 to 61 % of the time was preparation, not printing.

Fill the plate. Preparation is per plate, not per part. Eight brackets on one A1 plate took 3 min 46 s each instead of 13 min 21 s.

One bracket, seven printers

A small bracket from our walking robot in PLA, 0.20 mm Standard, one per plate, sliced with BambuStudio 2.08 and each printer's own Bambu profile. BambuStudio writes both the model printing time and the total into the G-code; preparation is the difference. Sliced on 15 October 2026:

  • 61 %X1C11 min 56 s total, 4 min 40 s printing, 7 min 16 s preparation
  • 60 %P2S11 min 39 s total, 4 min 37 s printing, 7 min 02 s preparation
  • 57 %P1S10 min 55 s total, 4 min 40 s printing, 6 min 15 s preparation
  • 54 %H2S10 min 06 s total, 4 min 41 s printing, 5 min 25 s preparation
  • 52 %H2D10 min 12 s total, 4 min 55 s printing, 5 min 17 s preparation
  • 49 %A1 mini12 min 14 s total, 6 min 15 s printing, 5 min 59 s preparation
  • 47 %A113 min 21 s total, 7 min 06 s printing, 6 min 15 s preparation

Then the same bracket, eight on one plate. Preparation stayed the same, to the second: 6 min 15 s on the A1 and P1S, 5 min 25 s on the H2S. Printing eight took 23 min 55 s on the A1, 3 min per part instead of 7, most likely because the parts share each layer's minimum cooling time.

Now your batch. Pick a printer, one or eight per plate, and how many parts:

Both plates sliced, not estimated. Your part shares cooling time differently, which is why we slice your plate.

What you get

The split
Your part's time on your printer, split into preparation and printing, read from the slicer's own G-code.
Parts per plate
How many fit on one plate, and the time per part when they share one preparation.
Batch days
Printer-hours and days for your quantity, one per plate against full plates.
A farm if you want one
We can print the batch across our farms in Shenzhen, at the hours we quoted.
