Moving a print to another printer
A part that prints well on one printer gets sliced again for another, and the maker's own preset quietly changes the walls, the retraction, the temperatures and the speeds. Pick two of 52 printers and see every difference, with the time and grams on the same part.
Compare two printersWhat changes
Retraction, 12 times apart. Creality's K1 preset pulls the filament back 0.5 mm, the Ender-5 preset 6 mm. One is direct drive, the other has a long tube. Swap them and you get strings or a jam.
Outer wall speed, 8 times apart. 25 mm/s on the Ender-3 V2 and CR-10 Max presets, 200 mm/s on the Qidi X-Smart 3. The surface you approved was printed at one of them.
The shell is not the same part. Top layers run from 3 to 7 and walls from 2 to 3. A part that was stiff enough on one printer can come out thinner-skinned on the next.

Each column is that maker's own 0.20 mm PLA preset in BambuStudio 02.08.02.61, read from the G-code it wrote for a 24 x 10 x 12 mm bracket on 15 October 2026. Differences are highlighted. Time and grams are the slicer's own figures for that file; the grams include the start routine's purge line.
