Why small parts print slowly
A tiny layer has no time to cool before the next one lands on it, so the slicer slows it down. Each spool has its own minimum layer time and floor speed.
Work it outWhat the presets say
PETG waits longer. Bambu PETG HF: at least 10 s per layer. PLA Basic: 4 s. ABS and ASA: 12 s.
There is a floor. The slowdown stops at 20 mm/s for most spools, 10 for TPU 95A and 35 for PET-CF.
Print several at once. Two parts on a plate double the path per layer and can halve the slowdown.
Your spool
From BambuStudio 02.08.02.61, its own filament presets for the X1 Carbon with a 0.4 mm nozzle (86 spools, each resolved through its parent presets). Fields: slow_down_layer_time, slow_down_min_speed. Travel and acceleration not counted.
What you get
- A faster plate
- Parts grouped so no layer is slowed.
- The spool to use
- Shorter layer time for small parts.
- The time checked
- In the slicer, before the run.
- Or we print it
- Grouped on our plates in Shenzhen.
