The model knows the quantities. The estimate is typed again by hand.

A cost consultant is paid for judgement and spends most of the fee on measurement. Every design revision means drawings measured again, a spreadsheet rebuilt, and a cost report that arrives after the design team has moved on. The consultants' models already hold every wall, door, duct and beam. This page measures a real clinic from its five models, prices it and shows what each design option does to the total, per line and in the building.
